Hopefully this is the right category 
I also did this back in an art class in sophomore year. It's supposed to be a fox spirit from Japanese folklore, which becomes silver with nine tails once it turns 1000. This was papier mache, so it was extremely hard to do the tails, so that's why they're lacking.
He's painted with metallic acrylic paint.
